Who we are

IELTS Edge is the data controller for personal data collected through ieltsedge.co. You can reach us at hello@ieltsedge.co.

What we collect

Email and name: when you take the Band Diagnostic quiz or join our list, we collect your email address and (optionally) your first name.

Quiz answers: your goal, current and target band, situation and deadline, so we can personalise your roadmap and the emails we send.

Essay text: when you use the free analyser, your essay is sent to our AI provider for analysis. We do not store your essay on our servers; it is processed to return your feedback and then discarded.

Payment information: purchases are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details — Stripe handles payment data as an independent processor.

Usage data: basic, privacy-friendly analytics about how pages are used.

How we use your data

To deliver the tools and content you request (your roadmap, analyser feedback, and purchased materials).

To send you the email sequence you opted into, including your personalised roadmap and related guidance. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

To process and deliver your purchase and provide access and support.

To improve our content and tools.

Legal bases

We rely on consent (for marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time), contract (to deliver a purchase you have made), and legitimate interests (to operate and improve the site securely).

Sharing and processors

We use trusted third-party processors to run the service: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Loops (email marketing automation), Anthropic (AI analysis of essays you submit), and Vercel (hosting and analytics).

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security standards. We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some processors are based outside the UK/EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Retention

We keep your contact data for as long as you remain subscribed or hold a purchase, and then for a reasonable period for record-keeping, after which it is deleted. Essay text submitted to the analyser is not retained.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email hello@ieltsedge.co. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Cookies

We use a small number of functional cookies (for example, to count free analyser uses per day) and privacy-friendly analytics. We do not use intrusive advertising trackers.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page.
