About IELTS Edge
IELTS Edge was built by someone obsessed with one question: why do fluent, capable English speakers keep failing the IELTS Writing module?
The answer, it turns out, is almost never their English. It's that IELTS Writing is judged against four specific criteria, and a Band 6.5 means you're doing three of them well and one of them just short of 7 — without anyone ever telling you which. People retake the whole test, pay another ~$250, lose another three months, and score 6.5 again, because they never diagnosed the actual problem.
So we built the opposite of a generic course. Everything here is engineered around the single half-band that blocks visas, jobs and registrations — decoded from the examiner's rubric into something you can actually act on. What we believe
- Being stuck at 6.5 is a structural, fixable gap — not a verdict on your ability.
- The fastest way up is to find the one criterion capping you and fix it — not to re-sit the whole test and hope.
- Good preparation is specific. 'Use better vocabulary' is not a plan; a 50-word swap list and a body-paragraph formula are.
